Incredibly, 2022 will see this club reach 50 years since its incorporation. As such, Wellington Branch is planning a great event to celebrate this milestone.
Hub Event: Wednesday/Thursday/Friday 23/24/25 February 2022

After our excellent experience in Masterton for the 45th Anniversary in 2017, we are once again heading to the Wairarapa to celebrate in style. Our base will again be the Solway Hotel on SH2 in Masterton, and like last time we will be running a Hub Event, using the hotel as a base and going off to do events on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before AGM.
You are not required to attend the Hub Event, and you can attend for whatever days you can.
Wellington members attending the Hub Event will be checking into the hotel on the Tuesday night, ready for a morning kickoff on Wednesday 24th February, and you are welcome to join us.
We are investigating a number of activities for the Hub Event, and these will be detailed in a future issue of Sunbeamania.
Please lock these dates into your calendar now and fasten your seatbelts for five days of Sunbeaming camaraderie in Masterton.
In an effort to get as many members along as possible, Wellington Branch will subsidise the cost for AGM registration down to $100pp. Anyone under 16 years of age will not have to pay a registration fee.
This will cover a BBQ on the Friday night, lunch on the Saturday, dinner on Saturday night and lunch on Sunday. Each car will also receive a commemorative magnetic plaque.
All costs during the Hub Event will be at your own expense. We will give some indicative costs in the next issue of Sunbeamania.
We have been allocated 20 rooms for Tuesday-Sunday, and 25 more rooms for the weekend, so that’s 45 rooms total. It’s on a first-come first-served basis. Some rooms have already been booked for the event. There are no more rooms at the Copthorne once these rooms have gone. We have negotiated a discounted room rate, and these start at $150/night.

Remember if you are coming to the Hub Event, you’ll need to book for as many nights as you need.
